Nashville Shoot

Well besides monsoon amounts of rain and night time dormitory dramatics - the Summer Sizzler was a blast. It was my second time sitting through a full swim meet and I can proudly say that I am learning more and more about this sport. Sure I had a constant shadow answering my never-ending questions, but hey, I am learning the sport!

Pictures will be uploaded to smugmug account for all to view and/or buy. Hahaha, probably only view.

Summer Sizzler

I never would have guessed that swimming would have been as difficult to shoot as it was. After talking with my photo professor he told me that while I was able to capture the swimmers coming out of the water, it's hard for the camera to have time to auto focus before the swimmer is able to grab a breath before heading back under.

Makes sense since all my pictures were soft around their shoulders and crisp on the water. Swimming is something that I definitely want to get better at shooting and hopefully with lens experimentation and more opportunities to shoot it, I will.

Cardinals Softball

I shot a lot but never really sat and looked at my outtakes until tonight. I had a handful of decent shots and I just had fun dramatically cropping and playing around.

I actually shot this game a while back in April for my sports portfolio for class. Softball, for me, is fun to shoot because the size of the field makes shooting a little bit easier than shooting soccer, baseball or football. Access can be a little difficult to work but fun to shoot nonetheless.

Hot Rod Weekend

I shot in Bowling Green for their minor league team (BG Hot Rods) this past weekend and had a blast. I borrowed a 300mm lens from one of my friends and finally got a good use out of my mono pod. I think my outtakes ended up somewhere around 2,000 or so. Like I said, I was having so much fun shooting regardless of the heat.

My goal for this summer/year/lifetime is to sell something. I think all the compliments will be worth it once I get the email that I sold something. It could happen.

Check out the pics!

Umm.. wingin' it

I went to work today and someone asked if I had a blog. To be honest, I never really understood the point of blogging or what the benefit of it would be. However, she said that she looked at her friend's pictures through his blog... and I have been wanting to do more to put my name out there and get people to notice my pictures.

Will it work? Who knows, but I don't just want to sit back anymore.

I'm tired of listening to my peers telling me that I don't know what I am doing on projects that I have no interest in. I just want to be the best sports photographer that I can and for that to happen I just need to keep shooting.

...and shooting.

Lets keep the fingers crossed, and hope for the best!
